Lazy Sunday

Taco here.

Today has been Sunday all day long and I did exactly what I was supposed to. Nothing. All day.  Some might argue that today is the best day to get out and do activities and socialize and meet people and blah blah blah. I hate activities and people so, no.

But fear not, for today was not completely wasted! As a matter of fact, today was a great day.

Might give some to Kentucky? Nah
Let me set the mood. I drive over to see my parents today to commemorate that evacuation process of my youngest brother from our mother's womb twelve years ago and the sky couldn't be any darker. Dreary, dull it was the best day to drive. You see, I am wearing my glasses today because my contacts have been messing up and I wouldn't have been able to wear my sunglasses and... I apologize. I'm rambling.  Anyway, so I get there and we do the cake and ice cream thing and discuss all the upcoming events. i.e. Guardians of the Galaxy, Shark Week, and (most importantly) Tennessee football recruits.

When suddenly my uncle realizes that the Red Sox game has started! Now mind you that this has been a rough year for most Red Sox fans. The returning champs have struggled to click in a big way this year. I really can't blame people leaving being the issue because honestly Ellsbury is the only star that committed high treason. I can't blame Victorino or Middlebrooks for being hurt either considering the young guys coming in to help carried the team through first part of the season!

Whatever the reason may be, it didn't matter today. Lester handled the Royals with ease today and it just looked right. The whole team looked like they were having fun out there today like they did every game last season. It was a blast to watch. With Lester pitching 8 innings without a run and Nava and Ross having 5 RBIs between them, who wouldn't be pumped? I mean seriously? Before the All Star break, we split a series with the White Sox (should have had that one), lost the series to Baltimore in spectacular fashion, and let's not forgot the sweep by the Cubs.. Travesty. The only gleam of light and the end of a long dark tunnel we were facing, was the series we took from the Astros. We couldn't even dust off the old broom to the Astros...

Sums my day up pretty well
The Red Sox must have gotten a little practice in though because they came out of the gate swinging! With the 6-0 win today the Sox sweep their first series since the 18th of last month. Thank you guys for giving my rainy, lazy Sunday a little bit of excited. Now let's just keep this up so we can see late October again!

Coach Klein with Northwestern here!

Fought hard in the trenches and pulled out the W against Tulane today. 1-1 on the season feels pretty good considering my miserable defeats in the past year. Also, only threw two picks! Yeah yeah yeah two picks. I know. But that's a heck of a lot better than the seven I threw against NMSU!

Until next time
Taco
