DraftKings 7/22/2014

Dug here, with a heavy heart. Two days since I have finished in the black and I am going through withdrawals. Another rule that I forgot to mention yesterday is that you never make this personal. Well friends (actually friend, considering that there is only one of you left reading) no matter how bad it gets, you have to push on. 0-for-3 for a second day in a row. For the second day in a row, today's mantra is again "Today is a new day". So YAY! let's get to it.

Today, I have went all out on two pitchers and bargain shopped the rest of my team. I have again seleted Brian McCann (who was later pulled due to not being in the lineup), Brett Gardner, and Jose Abreu. I am hoping that I am one day ahead of them (yesterday) and they will have good days today. Jacob deGrom has pitched very well of late. In his last five starts, he is 3-1 with a 1.65 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 10.5 K/9. The Mariners are sending out Erasmo Ramirez who has had a rough go of late. So between yesterday and today, we have switched sides when it comes to starting pitchers in this series.

My other starter is Scott Kazmir. He is facing the Astros and has been phenomenal on the mound recently. He is pitching at home which works out very well for him. He has a five game home winning streak with a 1.00 ERA, 0.69 WHIP, and 30 K's in 36 innings. Not to mention the fact that opponents are batting a frigid .163 against him. The lineup card is as follows.

P Jacob deGrom vs NYM $8,600
P Scott Kazmir vs Houston $9,100
C Brian McCann vs Texas $3,700
1B Jose Abreu vs Kansas City $5,200
2B Kolten Wong vs Tampa Bay $3,900
3B Chris Nelson at Chicago Cubs $3,700
SS Brandon Crawford at Philadelphia $3,500
OF Lucas Duda at Seattle $3,800
OF Brett Gardner vs Texas $4,400
OF Leonys Martin at New York Yankees $4,000

Hopefully this time tomorrow, I will have better news to report than today. Good luck, my only reader. You and I are going to need it.

Always,
Dug..
