Friday Night Playlists

I am starting a new series here on Our Amateur Hour. I love music and the emotions that simple words and sounds can stir within our hearts and minds, so throughout the week I am going to share 5 songs every Friday for you to start your weekend with. These will be mixed with some new and some old.

You'll find a lot of alternative rap, alternative rock, indie rock, hip hop, pop rock, top 40, and whatever I feel like putting on here.

I also love finding new music, so if you have any requests or recommendations leave them in the comments below.

Enjoy!

"Heartbeat" Childish Gambino
This song is a top 5 song ever. Good way to start this playlist.

"Control" Broken Bells
Taco got me on Broken Bells a few years ago. Told me Danger Mouse did the music and I was sold. Didn't know much about the Shins at the time, but James Mercer is fantastic.

"If You Didn't See Me" Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.
Not only do they have maybe the best band name in the history of band names, but they sound great. A great feel good song to get you ready for Friday night.

"Chelsea Dagger" The Fratllis
This is one of the more fun songs on the playlist this week. Again, a little older, but a good one. And, if you a fan of "The League" FX Tv show, which we are here on the blog, you'll quickly see that this is what they used for their theme song.

"Jealous (I Aint' With It)" Chromeo
This song is a great upbeat happy song with breakupish undertones. I'm creating the dictionary on this one. But this song can start to make you want to dance.

BONUS SONG FOR THE FIRST FRIDAY PLAYLIST POST!

"Kites" Geographer
This song is growing continues to grow on me. The electronic beat keeps up with a soft vocalist.

For all you Spotify listeners (and if you don't have Spotify you're missing out) you can follow my playlist at Alty's Friday Night Playlists.
