DraftKings 7/28/2014 UPDATED

Dug here, back from the dead. You know I had to be really bad off to not feel well enough to make a lineup. I had a terrible migraine yesterday that was so bad, wait for it..., I had to miss work! Now, I don't miss work often enough, so I felt pretty rough yesterday. However, all was not lost. I did get to see my beloved Reds continue to play crappy baseball, and I was fine with that. I don't get to watch them often enough, so it was a nice change.

Saturday was a good day for fantasy baseball. I hit all three of my head-to-head match ups, but barely. My team scored 93.05 points. My opponents? Well, I played one guy twice and he had identical lineups (91.50), and my big money winner was over a player by the name of "Scottyfranchise42" (90.50). Close match ups, but good so long as your score is higher.

Now, I did try a new type of contest: Steps. This is a type of competition that involves four steps of play. Step 1 is ten people with a $2 entry fee. Top two players receive a ticket (or $7) to a Step 2, while 3rd and 4th receive a Step 1 ticket (their money back). I just looked at the Step 4 before writing this. Entry fee is $88 (or your ticket), and paid out prizes are $200 to first and second. Third place gets another Step 4 ticket. When you reach Step 4, there are only 6 players. Those odds! Well, I finished in 5th during my first Step 1 on Saturday, and I am entering another one tonight.

Enough jabbering, here's the lineups:

P Homer Bailey vs Arizona $8,400
P Yu Darvish vs NYY $11,400
C Brayan Pena vs Arizona $2,900
1B Lucas Duda vs Philadelphia $4,200
2B Jordany Valdespin vs Washington $3,100
3B Brock Holt vs Toronto $4,400
SS Brandon Crawford vs Pittsburgh $3,600
OF Gregor Blanco vs Pittsburgh $3,300
OF Emilio Bonifacio vs Colorado $3,800
OF Denard Span at Miami $4,700

Good Luck!

This is Dug...
