Game 4 was a record breaker. A 19 inning, sleep in the clubhouse type record breaker.
Game 5 was the right way to handle a the team you just took 10 extra innings then beat.
Game 6 was one-sided in the other direct.
The Yankees and the Red Sox have always played interesting games in the past and this series really showed us what this rivalry is about. (Let's take this time to remind you that the Red Sox won the series by the way)
The first game in the series was the one to watch.. Well kinda. It lasted until like 3AM or something. 19 innings later, Boston came away with the "W". I personally thought the game was over in the top of the 6th with a 3-0 lead off of a pair of wild pitches but stalemate after stalemate later we were still watching a 7:05 start time game after midnight. I mean it was insane. Big Papi thought he had it with a solo shot over the fence in the 16th but at the bottom, the Yankees did it too. Tit for tat even in the 18th inning! Finally after 19 innings the Sox pulled it out. 6-5. Finally. Great night. Great game.
The second game of the series was handled with a lot less drama. Well for the Red Sox. I was on the road 15 hours driving around Georgia looking for a puppy with Chloe (you'll remember a reference to her in a previous post). That's right. I was in Masters traffic. Frickin' Augusta. 7 lanes of "I hate you Jesse". Oh well, Sox won it 8-4.
Game 3 was a wash. Forget it. Yankees win. (Sox won the series though remember that)
All in all, it was a great series and a great weekend. Great weather. Great games. Great sport! It begs the question...
