DraftKings 7/25/14

Dug here, and congrats are in order. If you picked just like me, entered the same contests as me, and played the same idiots as I did, then you won! WOOHOO!!

Odds are that you didn't though. Last night I hit three of five for a total winnings of $23.40 over $15 entered. Both pitchers earned wins, and actually that was about it. Yasmani Grandal went for a triple on the way to his hitter-high of 16 points.

Luckily for us, we had good pitchers going because the hitters were disappointing. Between the two pitchers, I had 60.1 points out of my total 100.1. When hitters go cold like that, more often than not you will lose your ass. It was a good thing we had opponents who shared our troubles.

Before I share my lineup, I have two tips to help you. Yeah yeah, no one thinks that Dug gives good advice, but that won't stop me from trying. Take it however you like.

One thing to avoid while gambling is greed. Yes, it's all about the money, but when you make it personal, you don't make good decisions. Another thing is to never play desperate. Back to what I said a couple of posts ago, don't bet an amount that would piss you off to lose. Desperation can be your downfall just as quick as anything else could be. Play smart, and the rewards will come in time.

Now allow me to get off of my soap box and present my starting lineups. I really wanted Felix, but the salary cap ran out of space. So aside from my coveted ace, here's what I have for tonight:

P Wade Miley vs Philadelphia $8,600
P Alfredo Simon vs Washington $8,000
C Miguel Montero vs Philadelphia $3,900
1B Lyle Overbay vs NYM $3,100
2B Jose Altuve vs Miami $5,100
3B Conor Gillaspie at Minnesota $4,200
SS Jed Lowrie at Texas $4,000
OF Adam Eaton at Minnesota $4,300
OF Lorenzo Cain vs Cleveland $3,900
OF Carlos Gonzalez vs Pittsburgh $4,900

I'm going to enter the same contests as last night. Remember, Greedy is bad!

Love Always,
Dug...
